Dinkum players and residents working together on an island

HOST RULES · VISITOR PERMISSIONS · SAFE TRANSFERS

Share the work,
not the confusion

Set a permission preset, add your party, assign useful roles, and finish every trading or exploration session with the right host actions and save steps.

The island belongs to the host

The host obtains deeds and advances main town or building quests. Every player keeps their own skills, licences, relationships, inventory, Dinks and Permit Points. Visitors can help broadly, but their work does not replace the host’s town progression.

Choose exactly what visitors may change

The host can set default permissions for first-time visitors and adjust a current visitor from the visitor list. Returning visitors keep their previously saved setting.

0permissions enabled

Give every player one clear job

The host is always slot one. Add visitors up to the platform limit and assign roles matched to the current objective.

Open, travel, return, save

Use inventory items, Travel Bags and a sleep save

Plan ordinary inventory transfers here. Large carried objects held above a player’s head cannot be transferred between islands.

Fast answers before inviting anyone

Host only

Deeds and main town quests

The host obtains deeds and advances Fletch’s central town and building progression.

Personal

Skills, licences and relationships

Each character develops and keeps their own skill levels, licences and NPC relationships.

Host starts travel

Mine elevator and airship

The host activates mine or Island Reef travel, and every player must board before departure.

Host museum

Visitor donations

Visitors can donate catches, but those donations count toward the host island’s museum.

Character owned

Inventory, Dinks and Permit Points

These travel with each player and return to that character after the session saves.

Host protection

Exit without saving after damage

If a visitor destroys or steals from the island, the host can return to the main menu without sleeping so the session changes are not saved.

Co-op note: PC sessions support up to six players including the host; Switch sessions support up to four. The host controls granular permissions such as containers, item pickup, house editing, terraforming, island editing, vehicles and farm-animal interaction.
